Granite is one of the hardest of the stones builders use. Besides its classic beauty, it is durable, versatile and strong, making it a great choice for commercial installation.
Granite is an igneous rock with at least 20% quartz by volume. It’s formed when hot lava turns local rocks into a molten form. Large, bulbous chambers of molten rock form as the semi liquid presses it way up into the earth’s crust. This molten lava cools slowly, sometimes over millions of years. Crystals that form during the process give granite its distinctive look.
Description
Granites can be pink to gray in color, depending on their chemistry and mineralogy. Granites usually have a medium to coarse grained texture.
